The Story Behind the Campaign

The Snowsuit Campaign has been offered to the Prescott-Russell community by Groupe Action since 2006. Every year, a fundraiser is organized to purchase and distribute new and high-quality snowsuits to children 12 years and under in need, helping them get through the harsh Ontario winters. On average, we have managed to keep 400 children warm each winter. With the support of our staff and the generosity of the community, businesses, and organizations of Prescott-Russell, we are able to fulfill all the requests we receive every year.

Groupe Action has established good relationships with a supplier who is able to provide us with high-quality snow suits at an affordable price because we buy in bulk. Children receive only new snowsuits. To qualify for a free snow suit for your child(ren), you must meet the following criteria:

  • Before scheduling an appointment with our team to validate your admission to the Snow Suits Campaign, you must ensure that you have checked your eligibility by reviewing the information provided in the "Check Your Eligibility" section. If, based on the provided information, you believe you are eligible, you must contact Family Centre nearest to your home to schedule an appointment.

Appointments are scheduled during fixed time slots between 8 AM and 4 PM.  At your appointment, you must have all the required documents. Without these documents, we will not be able to order a snow suit for your child(ren). It is also important to know your child(ren)’s snow suit size before the appointment. If you are unavailable during the day due to work, please inform the educator.

During the appointment, the educator will also ask you to fill out a form that contains the information we need to approve your application and order the snow suit.

The educator will inform you if you are admissible. Upon confirmation of your admissibility, the educator will contact you when the snow suit is available to schedule a fitting appointment. You must bring your child(ren) to this appointment. We do not provide snow suits without confirming that the size purchased fits the child.
